School Partnerships
The School Partnership Initiative exists to encourage local churches and faith-based groups to build long-term relationships with public schools, pray for the teachers, administrators, students and families connected with the school, and help meet real needs at the schools.
Partnerships between churches and/or faith-based groups and public schools have been developing in our city for some time. Within the past year this trend has continued, only at a faster pace.
This web site is NOT designed to formalize or control the development of these organic, grassroots relationships, but rather, to provide resources, support, motivation, and stories for those who desire to initiate a Partnership or improve an existing one.
The site includes a database of most every public grade, middle, and high school in the tri-county (Washington, Multnomah, Clackamas) area. If you have a partnership, please take a minute to register your commitment to that school here. That will help us, and others throughout the city, see which schools already have Partnerships, and which schools are open for new Partnerships.
And since we are still in the resource collection phase, we are VERY interested in hearing your stories -- how you have connected with a school, what you have done to meet real needs, and how the school has responded. Please click here to contact us so we can collect your stories!
